Maletsie Letsie
Maletsie is a Labour Inspector in the Ministry of Labour and Employment Lesotho, responsible for inspections in the Textile and Manufacturing sector, the largest formal employer in Lesotho employing over 80% women. She has over 12 years’ experience in this field. She is an advocate for decent work for all. She has published articles on labour issues in various local newspapers to educate the nation about their rights at work.
Maletsie is a Mandela Washington Fellow, 2021 cohort, and through her networks as a fellow she managed to facilitate the funding of a project supporting safe and inclusive work environments in Lesotho; the project is funded by the US Department of Labor. She is also a board member of the US Alumni Exchange Programs in Lesotho and holds the portfolio of Public Outreach Coordinator in the board. Maletsie holds a Master of Management in Public Policy from University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg (South Africa), and believes that societies need sound policies to ensure socio-economic inclusion of all.
Maletsie is a firm believer of women and youth empowerment. She believes that women and youth should be afforded opportunities that will enable them to easily perform in the socio-economic sphere.
